Lifestyle Empowerment Strategy Sessions
In these virtual sessions, we will examine lifestyle choices and behaviors to gather information about the source of the dis-ease. I’ll offer you tools to feel empowered on your healing journey. Our bodies already know how to heal. We’ll discuss ways to support our bodies on that healing path.
Yoga Therapy
In these sessions, mindful movement, assisted stretching, meditation, and breathing techniques will be tailored for your unique body. This is not like a typical yoga class. Yoga Therapy addresses therapeutic needs. I’ve used Yoga Therapy techniques with folx with disabilities, degenerative disc disease, Parkinson’s patients, among others, with tremendous success. TCTSY
Posttraumatic stress has long been considered a mental health issue; but surviving trauma involves our physiology. This is why oftentimes talk therapy alone is not effective in overcoming PTSD. TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga) is a movement-based treatment for Complex PTSD that is backed by research. In a pilot study, 52% of participants who took part in weekly TCTSY sessions in addition to receiving Cognitive Behavioral Therapy no longer met the diagnostic criteria for PTSD by the end of the study. We need to include the body in healing from trauma.
